Application Requirements

Please include the following supplementary documents with your application:

  • A non-refundable application fee of US $200 for all applicants.
  • A non-refundable processing fee of US $250 (for Change of Status applicants only).
  • A non-refundable reinstatement processing fee of US $300 (for Reinstatement applicants only).
  • A non-refundable fee of US $25 for wire transfer processing/outside of the US payments (if applicable).
  • A non-refundable fee of US $120 for Express Mail (if applicable, optional)
  • A copy of your passport.
  • A copy of your current U.S. visa, I-94 form, and I-797 form (As applicable – students currently in the U.S. only). 
  • A completed Web Entrance Test along with your application (for Intial and Change of Status applicants only).

F-1 applicants should also include the following:

  • A bank statement, less than 6 months old; at a minimum, the total balance should cover the living expense of $800/month in addition to tuition. For example, if a student wants to register for 4 months, the balance should exceed $800 x 4 + 4 months of tuition.
  • A guarantee letter of financial support from the person, business, or organization providing you with financial support while studying in the United States (if applicable).
  • Proof of health insurance (not required).

Transfer students also need to include the following:

  • A copy of the I-20 form from your previous school.
  • A completed transfer release form signed by your previous school’s international advisor.
  • Personal letter, letter from previous DSO, and official transcript to support Reinstatement request (If applicable – Reinstatement applicants only).

Change of Status applicants should also include:

  • Copy of marriage certificate if applying with a dependent spouse or copy of birth certificate if applying with a dependent child.

Laptop, Books and Account Requirements

Here is what you need when studying at BIA:

  • Students are required to bring their textbooks, workbooks, writing equipment, laptop (or smart device with keyboard) and have a Google Account.
  • Textbooks and workbooks are the main curriculum materials used during classes. The required books are listed on this website according to the class, and will be informed to students prior to the start of class. Students may purchase their textbooks and workbooks at school.
  • Laptops are required to access and complete graded work (such as assignments, quizzes and exams), access supplementary curriculum materials, and to check on student grades and attendance records. A smart device with a keyboard (such as a tablet with a keyboard cover) can be used instead of a laptop. Free internet access is available at the school.
  • Google Accounts are required to access schoolwork and assessments which are stored on Google Drive and Google Classroom. Students can create a free Google Account at www.gmail.com.
